Join science educators from across New York's Capital Region for the 42nd Annual Eastern STANYS Spring Conference. This regional gathering returns to Siena University and brings together K-12 teachers, local experts, and science organizations to share effective classroom strategies and enhance science instruction across various disciplines.

All sessions are aligned with the New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS). Attendees can participate in two 45-minute sessions, along with the keynote address, to earn 5 CTLE credits.

Join us as we once again bring members of the pollution prevention community together. Materials science is accelerating the transition to a sustainable future characterized by clean energy and a circular economy. As research rises to meet these global challenges, it becomes increasingly important to assess the potential impacts – economic, environmental, and social – of new innovations. This symposium will explore the integration of sustainability and societal considerations across material readiness levels: from research to development and ultimately deployment. Interdisciplinary talks will be solicited on key themes such as incorporating sustainability, economic, and social metrics into early-stage materials research; strategies for enabling circular material flows and minimizing waste; understanding the supply chain and social dimensions of materials; and case studies of the successful application of analysis to guide competitive clean and circular material development. Upon completion of this symposium, materials scientists and engineers will be equipped with a toolkit of resources and case studies to guide the evaluation and amplification of the broader impacts of their research.

The 13th ISMC will be a conference for school teachers of chemistry, school science technicians, academics, and educational professionals from the UK and overseas with the aim of promoting Microscale and Small-Scale Techniques (MaSSTs) in chemistry education.

Fluctuations in political, economic, and R&D cycles may introduce uncertainty and necessitate the reallocation of resources, which can affect the adoption of sustainable chemistry and greener processes. Such disruptions have the potential to compromise long-term business resilience, elevate risk levels, and adversely impact both human health and the environment. Continuing to advance sustainable chemistry in a changing environment requires continued policy, investment, and market commitments.

To ensure sustainable chemistry remains a priority, demonstrating and communicating its positive impact on all business functions and through the value chain is critical. During this webinar series, subject matter experts will share tools and insights to assist champions with effectively "making the case". Structured as a series of discussions, attendees will have the unique opportunity to pre-competitively engage with the speakers and other companies facing similar challenges.

During the first 3 webinars, experts shared the benefits of sustainable chemistry for investors, on domestic manufacturing, and business health. This webinar builds on these conversations by highlighting the need for education - both in academia and for workforce development - in order to build a workforce with sustainable chemistry knowledge and skill sets. Juan Colberg from Pfizer will discuss the business benefits of a sustainability minded workforce and needs to attract this talent. Amy Cannon from Beyond Benign will share how our community can support students and educators in training the next generation for success.

Join us for Sensemaking – The Power of Making Connections, at the 130th Annual STANYS conference in Syracuse designed to empower educators in navigating the exciting landscape of the New York State Science Learning Standards. This conference isn’t just about the what of the NYSSLS, but the how – how to connect the standards to engaging classroom practice, innovative pedagogy, and meaningful student learning. This conference isn’t just about isolated scientific disciplines; it’s about weaving them together all through the lens of the NYSSLS and its emphasis on crosscutting concepts. This year’s theme emphasizes the crucial role of interdisciplinary connections in scientific discovery and problem-solving, mirroring the interconnected nature of the world around us. CTLE credit is available for attendees if they complete the session attendance forms. 

This marks the first time that the IUPAC Congress and General Assembly are taking place in an ASEAN country, and this has created immense enthusiasm and excitement among chemists from this part of the world. The theme of IUPAC 2025, “Chemistry for Sustainable Future”, underscores our commitment to exploring chemistry’s pivotal role in addressing global sustainability challenges. In addition to the scientific sessions on various disciplines in chemistry, IUPAC 2025 also includes a special cluster of symposia on “Chemistry and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)” focusing on chemistry providing solutions and remedies to SDGs.

As we celebrate the 50th Edition of the biennial World Chemistry Congress, we’ll also commemorate “100 years of Excellence in Chemistry Research and Innovations” at the 50WCC. Additionally, there will also be a cluster of special themed symposia covering topics such as gender, diversity, equity & inclusiveness, professionalism & code of ethics, young chemists’ networks, world chemistry leadership programmes, chemical weapons convention, emerging technologies & innovations in chemistry, and other relevant subjects.
