Postdoctoral Scholar of Chemistry Education Research, College of Science

The successful candidate will have completed a PhD in chemistry education or related field (ABD will be considered), and will be performing research in line with the PI’s research program. The postdoctoral scholar will also be encouraged to propose research that is interesting to them and demonstrate a certain level of independence in research endeavors. The postdoctoral scholar will also be a mentor to incoming graduate and undergraduate students in the group.

Assistant Professor, Chemical Education

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Northern Illinois University anticipates hiring a tenure-track faculty member in chemical education. The position is a full-time, nine-month appointment at the assistant professor rank. Primary responsibilities include establishing a vigorous, externally funded program in discipline-based education research (DBER), teaching introductory chemistry (with the opportunity to teach upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise), and working effectively with NIU’s extensive DBER community.
