She is the Director of Educational Content and Learning at the Lab Safety Institute. She focuses on systems-level improvement—supporting schools as they rethink chemical management, instructional practices, and professional learning to align safety and sustainability. Her work bridges policy, pedagogy, and practice to make safer science accessible to every learning environment. There is so much to learn from her wealth of knowledge and experience!Considering this is a group of educators and scientists interested in toxicology which heavily overlaps with the goals of making safer science, perhaps there are a few questions you might like to ask @Elizabeth Braun in the ask me anything forum starting tomorrow! I was surrounded by colleagues and teachers from all over the state interested in laboratory safety and looking into solutions that can be used effectively in schools, just like I was. I wrote a proposal to bring @Elizabeth Braun to Billerica, to give a workshop to the district (I hope it materializes). I became a member of the Laboratory Safety Institute, which gave me access to an infinite pool of resources to keep me up to date on laboratory safety practices. My colleagues at BMHS also acquired a membership to take advantage of the professional development opportunities offered. Going through all the lessons at the Summit affirmed many of the decisions we made at the chemistry section at our school regarding the stockroom, and waste disposal. Opened my eyes to the extent of my responsibilities and liabilities regarding laboratory safety. It also made me aware of the importance of changing the culture around safety in our classrooms, beyond the chemistry lab....
