Materials Scientist/Engineer

Invinity is seeking a Materials Scientist / Materials Engineer to join our Product Development organization. Reporting to the Director of Stack Development, you will focus on developing and qualifying advanced materials for Invinity’s next-generation vanadium flow battery stacks. Your expertise in electrodes, bipolar plates, ion exchange membranes, and polymer materials will be critical to improving performance, durability, and manufacturability.

Responsibilities:

Senior Research Scientist

Invinity is seeking an experienced Senior Research Scientist to join their Technology Group, working from the company’s site in Bathgate, UK. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, with exceptional problem-solving and communication skills. You will be joining a team of talented scientists and engineers, split across sites in Bathgate and Vancouver, and will have opportunities to work directly with internal & external scientific partners, and with materials suppliers.

Summer R&D Intern

RenewCO₂ is re-inventing chemical production using CO₂ emissions with a low-cost, high energy-efficiency, and carbon-negative electrochemical process. Our eCUT technology converts CO₂ into cost-competitive raw materials for plastics. We enable companies to meet emission reduction targets while producing sustainable materials at a profit.

Assistant Professor, Electrochemistry for Energy Conversion/Storage, Faculty of Science

The Faculty of Science at the University of Calgary is inviting applications for a full-time position in the Department of Chemistry, specializing in Physical Electrochemistry pertaining to Energy Conversion/Storage options. The successful candidate will be appointed as an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in the Department of Chemistry, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.

Senior Chemist, Project Lead

e-Zinc is searching for an experienced and talented Senior Chemist to work within the Technology department on the development, formation, and characterization of advanced electrolytes and zinc electrodes for e-Zinc’s technology. You will be a key contributor to driving electrolyte and zinc electrode innovation; scaling formulations from lab to production, and collaborating closely with teams across electrode development, product engineering, and operations. This role offers the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of clean energy within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Postdoctoral Fellow in Electrocatalysis

The Biddinger Group at The City College of New York (CCNY) has a postdoc position for experimental research in electrochemical cycling of liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHCs) and CO2 electroreduction. The LOHC studies will involve investigation of electrocatalysis, reaction parameter influences and mechanism and kinetics. The CO2 electroreduction work will involve reaction durability investigations. Both projects will require characterization of catalysts and product analyses. These projects involve collaborations with both academic and industry partners.

Research Associate in Green Electrosynthesis

The Sustainable Electrochemistry Group is seeking a Research Associate in electrosynthesis of value-added chemicals, to be funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). You will use a combination of electrochemical, X-ray and infrared spectroscopy techniques to understand the fundamental bottlenecks in the activity and selectivity of catalysts for the electro-oxidation of propene to high value chemicals such as propylene glycol and acrylic acid.
