Rosemary Marusak

I obtained my BA/BS in chemistry/biology from Providence College, RI (1986) and my PhD in inorganic chemistry from the University of Notre Dame, IN (1990). Following post-doctoral work at UC Davis, CA (1990-93), I joined the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Kenyon College (OH), where I was Associate Professor and Chair (1993-2004). I pursued a veterinary degree at Michigan State U (2044-2008) and completed a Poultry Health and Management residency and Masters program - during which time I became Board Certified and a diplomate in the American College of Poultry Veterinarians (2008-2010). I spent 10 years as a commercial poultry technical service veterinarian in the turkey and layer industries and joined the Secure Food Systems team at the University of Minnesota in 2020 where I am currently a risk anlayst and researcher of business continuity movements during Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza outbreaks. I currently teach chemistry of disinfection to poultry professionals in the UMN POUL course curriculum.
