Bio
Mmenyene Paul Raphael is an assistant lecturer in the Department of Chemical Sciences at Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, Nigeria. I hold a B.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Port Harcourt and am pursuing an M.Sc. in Organic/Natural Product Chemistry at Akwa Ibom State University, Ikot Akpaden. My research focuses on the phytochemical analysis and in vitro pharmacological evaluation of medicinal plants indigenous to Southern Nigeria. I am a member of the ACS, RSC, and CSN. I am passionate about natural product discovery, scientific research, and mentoring young scientists to bridge traditional medicine and modern chemistry.

This study investigates the chemical composition and biological activities of four medicinal plants commonly used in Southern Nigeria, focusing on their antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties - Development of Improved Teaching Modules for Organic Chemistry at Polytechnic Level

A pedagogical project aimed at integrating practical organic chemistry experiments with local plant-based chemical sources to enhance student engagement and applied learning outcomes. Building institutional capacity for green chemistry.
Equip faculty, staff, and laboratory personnel with the knowledge and tools needed to integrate
sustainable chemistry principles into teaching, laboratory operations, and decision-making across the
institution.
Empower students as sustainability leaders and innovators.
Establish the Student Sustainability Accelerator Hub to cultivate student-driven projects, mentorship,
and peer engagement focused on practical, low-cost green solutions.
