Bio

Dr. Hira Khalid is an Associate Professor of Chemistry, educator, and medicinal chemist with over 15 years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and student mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Her work spans chemical education, medicinal chemistry, and the integration of innovative, evidence-based approaches in large-enrollment laboratory courses. She has developed numerous interactive and student-centered pedagogical strategies, incorporating green chemistry principles, sustainability awareness, and AI-enhanced teaching tools into the chemistry classroom. Dr. Khalid holds active memberships in the American Chemical Society (ACS), the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), and the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), and has served in multiple leadership roles within ACS, including as Faculty Advisor for an ACS International Student Chapter and committee member for the Division of Analytical Chemistry. Passionate about empowering diverse learners, she is committed to designing inclusive, meaningful, and environmentally responsible learning experiences that prepare students to think critically and address global challenges through chemistry.
