A year ago, I remember creating this forum about how to introduce sustainability to kindergarten students. At the time, I honestly did not know how to approach it myself. I felt that it would require quite a bit of experience working with this age group to explain something so big and abstract. But when I read your story above, it gave me a real “aha!” moment. Approaching the topic from that perspective can truly spark deep curiosity, simply by tapping into their emotions. I really admire how you built this kind of approach, and I would love to know how you arrived at this teaching strategy. I have also been following @Colleen Kelley on LinkedIn, and I am inspired by how driven she is in creating very creative experiments and educational materials. They are so elegant that chemistry (very abstract subject) becomes genuinely appealing to kids. In this case I would assume that Colleen’s value proposition is tapping into the limitless creative imagination of children....
