Ana Paula Ribeiro

Ana Paula Ribeiro is an Auxiliary Researcher at IST-ID under the CEEC Individual program and an Invited Auxiliary Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon. Her research focuses on the field of green chemistry, with particular emphasis on the development and application of sustainability metrics, catalytic systems, and interface science to promote more environmentally benign chemical processes. Through an interdisciplinary approach, she investigates how catalytic mechanisms and surface interactions can be optimized to enhance reaction efficiency and reduce ecological impact. Ana Paula’s work contributes to the design of cleaner synthesis routes and supports the transition toward more sustainable industrial practices. At IST, she teaches and mentors students, integrating cutting-edge research with academic instruction. She is also actively involved in national and international collaborations aimed at advancing sustainable technologies. Her dedication to both fundamental and applied research in green chemistry, promotes bridging between scientific discovery and societal needs for sustainable development.
